IMAGE MANIPULATION

I maintain the same philosophy in image manipulation that I embraced at the start of my photography career: get it right in camera. This means doing everything possible to capture the best image at the moment of shooting.

In today’s age of AI, the value of my extensive training and experience with Photoshop is more significant than ever. While AI tools are incredibly powerful, they still require the right input to achieve true artistry and precision. The human touch is essential in guiding these tools to their full potential.

My expertise in both Photoshop and AI ensures that every detail is meticulously crafted. This combination maximizes the return on investment by producing images that are not only technically perfect but also resonate deeply on an emotional level. By integrating my foundational skills with cutting-edge technology, I consistently deliver exceptional results that elevate any creative production workflow.

SOLHEIM CUP
photoshoot & image prep

I set up a mobile studio for the Solheim Cup to photograph Team USA candidates. I used precise planning and image manipulation techniques to work with our team to create cohesive, high-quality visuals that seamlessly matched those of Team EU, ensuring impactful and timely assets.

The LPGA’s premier event, the biennial Solheim Cup, alternates between the US and Europe, making its US appearance every four years. A significant challenge in producing assets for this event is that the team composition isn’t finalized until just before the event, as each player must earn their spot. This makes time of the essence for gathering and producing assets.

In today’s age of AI, the combination of precise shoot planning and advanced Photoshop execution proved invaluable.

By capturing high-quality images right in the camera, I laid a strong foundation for further refinement using AI-enhanced tools in Photoshop. These tools allowed my team and me to quickly and efficiently fine-tune each player’s image, ensuring every detail was meticulously crafted. Despite being photographed by teams on different continents and at various times and locations, the images matched flawlessly. This approach saved time and ensured that the final photos resonated deeply with viewers, balancing technical perfection with emotional impact.

INTERNATIONAL CROWN
photoshoot & image prep

I meticulously planned and executed a studio shot for the International Crown, creating a compelling, gravity-defying image that significantly increased media engagement and highlighted the event’s unique recognition of individual team members.

To highlight the beauty and unique nature of the International Crown’s individual winning team member awards, I meticulously planned and executed a studio shot to showcase its distinct design. Unlike most tournaments that award a single trophy to the winning team, the International Crown individually recognizes each of the four victorious team members with their own crown. My goal was to present this visually uniquely and compellingly.

With only one crown available for the shoot, I applied my “get it right in camera” philosophy to ensure the highest quality capture. I meticulously calculated each crown’s position in the final frame, moving the camera and subject to achieve the desired composition. This foundation allowed for seamless integration using advanced Photoshop techniques before the advent of AI-enhanced tools, stacking the images to create a singular, gravity-defying portrayal of the crowns.

By combining precise shoot planning with sophisticated Photoshop execution, I crafted a high-end photographic concept that significantly increased media engagement for the event. This approach drew attention to the International Crown’s distinctive and prestigious recognition and demonstrated the robust foundation of traditional photography skills in a world of modern AI-enhanced image manipulation.
